NPA Denies Issuing Arrest Warrants for March and March Movement Leaders

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has firmly rejected claims that arrest warrants have been issued for March and March Movement leader Jacinta MaNgobese Zuma and her husband, Xolani Zuma.

The state’s prosecutorial body issued an official media statement on Thursday, 15 October 2026, responding directly to public assertions made by the anti-illegal immigration campaign group.

The movement had previously raised concerns that its top leadership was facing imminent arrest related to their ongoing public demonstrations.

In a swift pushback against allegations of political weaponization, the NPA categorically denied the existence of any active warrants.

The authority reinforced its institutional independence, stating explicitly that it does not take directives from political parties, public office holders, or any external entities.

According to the official release, all prosecutorial actions remain strictly bound by the South African Constitution, standing legislative frameworks, and available objective evidence.

The authority reminded the public of its long-standing operational protocol, which dictates that the NPA does not comment on active investigations or fluid law enforcement operations until matters are formally enrolled in a court of law.

The statement concluded with a stern warning to political organizations and civic groups, urging them to desist from spreading unfounded rumors that deliberately misrepresent or undermine the foundational integrity of the criminal justice system.
