RAMAPHOSA URGES LIMPOPO VOTERS TO GIVE ANC ANOTHER CHANCE AMID SERVICE DELIVERY CONCERNS

Polokwane: ANC President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa has appealed to Limpopo voters to give the African National Congress (ANC) another opportunity to govern, arguing that the party has the experience, leadership capacity and track record to continue delivering services to communities.

Addressing thousands of supporters at the ANC Limpopo Provincial Siyanqoba Rally at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday, 31 October 2026, Ramaphosa urged voters not to abandon the governing party ahead of the November 4 Local Government Elections.

The President defended the ANC’s record in government, calling on communities to reflect on development projects and service delivery interventions implemented under ANC-led administrations.

He maintained that the party remained committed to improving people’s lives and addressing the challenges confronting municipalities.

However, Ramaphosa’s appeal comes against a backdrop of growing public frustration over persistent service delivery challenges, including water shortages, unemployment, deteriorating road infrastructure, electricity disruptions and concerns about municipal accountability.

Across parts of Limpopo, communities continue to raise questions about access to reliable basic services, placing local government performance at the centre of the election campaign.

With political parties intensifying their final campaign activities ahead of the November 4 polls, the ANC is seeking to convince voters that its experience in government should count in its favour.

The Siyanqoba Rally provided a platform for the party’s provincial and national leadership to mobilise supporters, defend its governance record and appeal to undecided voters.

While Ramaphosa called for renewed public confidence in the ANC, the party faces the challenge of demonstrating how its commitments will translate into measurable improvements in people’s everyday lives.

As the countdown to election day continues, voters will have an opportunity to assess the promises made by political parties against their experiences of local government and service delivery.

Whether the ANC’s appeal for another mandate will resonate with Limpopo voters will become clearer when voting takes place on November 4.
