KGAPANE: Mopani District Municipality Executive Mayor Dagma Mamanyoha has on Saturday joined Her Majesty Queen Masalanabo Modjadji and community members in a fundraising marathon aimed at securing essential supplies for the paediatric and maternity wards at Kgapane Hospital.

The initiative, organised under the auspices of Her Majesty’s Pula Ya Balobedu Foundation, brought together community stakeholders, healthcare workers, students and political leaders in Kgapane Township.

Executive Mayor Mamanyoha and Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Rosina Ramalatswa participated in the event, completing the 5km route of the 10km marathon in support of the fundraising campaign.

It seeks to mobilise resources to help address the needs of the hospital’s maternity and paediatric wards, which provide healthcare services to mothers, newborns and children in the surrounding communities.

Mamanyoha called on businesses and private individuals to contribute towards the campaign, emphasising the need for collective support to ensure that Kgapane Hospital has the necessary supplies to provide healthcare services in a safe and dignified environment.

The event received support from Kgapane Hospital staff, Letaba TVET College’s Kgapane Campus and members of the Bolobedu community.

The campaign also highlights the role that partnerships between government, traditional institutions, businesses and ordinary citizens can play in supporting public healthcare facilities.

The Executive Mayor commended Queen Modjadji, the organisers, participants and supporters for contributing to the initiative, which aims to improve healthcare conditions for mothers and children at Kgapane Hospital.

The organisers are appealing for continued support from the public and the business sector to help secure the supplies needed by the hospital.
