FOUR ARRESTED WITH AK-47, TWO HANDGUNS IN MUDEN, KZN
Four men aged between 19 and 35 have been arrested in Muden, KwaZulu-Natal, after police allegedly found them in possession of three firearms and 159 rounds of ammunition.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation in the early hours of Thursday, 29 October 2026.
National Crime Intelligence officers had received information alleging that the suspects, who were actively involved in ongoing anti-immigration marches, were linked to cash-in-transit robberies and possessed firearms.
A multidisciplinary police team subsequently searched a residence in Muden, where officers recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, two handguns and ammunition.
The firearms will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether they may be linked to crimes committed in KwaZulu-Natal or elsewhere in the country.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Greytown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 30 October 2026, on charges relating to the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
